Or you look at your window on a very bright sunny day and close your eye and see after image for second or two of your window. Or you go out side in sun and look at the sun and close your eye and some times still see some white blob moving in your eye that changing shape look like happy face. Or when you rub your eye and some times see stars or a blob that is for second or two before it is gone. This got me thinking if people are taking taking the world literally where people think if one say think of brown table with red apple, yellow bananas and purple cupcakes it is like closing your eye and some one shinny a flashlight or candle at your eye and you can see lights or blobs in your eye. I can’t see it, but i know it’s there and would be able to use spatial awareness to sense it or visualize it. One person says when I try to picture some thing say a brown table with red apple, yellow bananas and purple cupcakes on the table it is a like a black curtain and the visual is on the other side. Some nonaphants say it more like a mini photo. Other aphantasia say I see nothing but can sense it and describe it. One aphantasia say I see nothing but it is like a database that I can pull up to describe it and know what it looks like. There seems to be two types of aphantasia from what I get there, where if one say to the person think of brown table with red apple, yellow bananas and purple cupcakes on the table. With some hyperphantasia saying the images are like HD photo. #Eidetic imagery vs hyperphantasia how to#
It is my hope that people will use the subreddit as means of improving their visualization and how to get to the goal of hyperphantasia (explained here), and in doing so learn about how others use their imagination/visualization to improve their lives. However as many of us are aware, the brain can not only create mental images, but hear sounds and music, experience touch, taste, and smell as well. Hyperphantasia is a relatively new term used to describe extreme or far above average mental sensory imagery occurring both when we imagine and when we recreate memories stored in our brains.
